Gabions have been employed for containment and hydraulic control for more than fifty years, all over the world, and on many thousands of sites, both because they are easy to produce and because they are easy to place. But the idea of studying and designing an entirely new and innovative gabion comes from the need to simplify installation and reduce the manual work involved, and thus allow the use of self-drilling anchors to improve structural characteristics and enlarge the field of application.
Our “SUPERGABIONS” have obtained excellent engineering and structural results, every component being designed to make the structure more robust and the installation easier. The safety aspect has always been important for us, both in gabion assembly and filling, and our impetus has always been to automatize and mechanize the operations as far as possible. Our SUPERGABIONS project exploits 37 years of “know-how” and experience gained in soil consolidation

The gabions can be made from individual rectangular,trapezoidal or triangular modules. However,SUPERGABIONS were created to be a system touse where closures are present only at the veryends of the block. The modules of the individualpanels of the meshwork can be 25/50/75/100cm high while the size of the base can be variable from 50 cm to 100 cm.
The SUPERGABIONS were created to be stabilized with self-drilling anchors. The structural elements of the continuous lattice can be used with a “step” variable of 20cm, 25cm, 40cm or 50cm, so the project designer can vary the resistance of the gabion according to the needs of the project while optimally allocating
the tensions in relation to the anchorage.
